Volunteer of the Quarter: October-December 2008

Rae Marie Roberts

Rae Marie Roberts will celebrate her 10-year anniversary with us in 2009. Consistently fabulous, Rae Marie won the Most Dependable Volunteer award in 2004, the President’s Lifetime Service Award in 2005 and President’s Gold Service Awards in 2006 and 2007. Rae Marie works almost every event and is always early and ready to go. She also volunteers at Morton Plant Mease Hospitals and recently celebrated 10,000 hours with them. Rae Marie stays busy contributing to our entire community and is a true asset to our family!

Service Group of the Quarter: October-December 2008

University of Tampa PEACE Center

The University of Tampa's PEACE Center sends student volunteers out into the community to lend a hand and make a difference. Twice this October, they crossed the bay to help Clearwater. Several students participated in two different service projects to plant grasses in Glen Oaks Park and the Courtney Campbell Causeway. I have never seen a group work so hard and still keep a positive attitude and a smile on their face. They are a wonderful group and we truly appreciate their time, travel and hard work!

Garden Avenue Park Cleanup, July 2008: After vandals spread glue throughout the park, Delta Sigma Theta Alumni of Clearwater stepped up to help us clean it up. Great Job!
