- The 2010 Statewide Regional Evacuation Study for the Tampa Bay Region was released on August 26, 2010. The study includes an updated Storm Tide Atlas for Pinellas County (*49MB PDF file*) that shows locations with the potential for storm tide flooding including the new boundaries of the Coastal High Hazard Area (CHHA). These changes to the CHHA effectively change the boundaries of the Clearwater Coastal Storm Area defined in the Clearwater Comprehensive Plan.

Current Major Planning Projects
What We Do
The Planning Department establishes the city's long range plans
in concert with the city's overall goals. The department is responsible
for administration of the city's Comprehensive Plan, the city's
20-year plan, as well as detailed neighborhood and area plans. The
department also implements the city's redevelopment goals through
site plan reviews of public and private projects.
The department is comprised of 18 staff members. It is organized
into two operational divisions: Development
Review and Long Range
