Applications for the following positions are accepted on a continual

FIREFIGHTER/EMT
FIRE MEDIC
Salary Ranges: $35,323 – $52,486 (Firefighter/EMT), $42,387 – $62,983 (Fire Medic)
Description: General Firefighting work in controlling, extinguishing and preventing fires; and providing emergency medical service work.
Qualifications: Possession of valid State of Florida Firefighter Certification, Emergency Medical Technician Certification; driver’s license, at least 18 years of age and may not use any form of tobacco products. Medics also require: valid State of Florida certification as a Paramedic.
To be placed on the eligibility list, applicants must complete the following steps:
- Submit completed application (online, or via mail/fax) with valid Firefighter/ EMT or Fire Medic certifications attached to Human Resources.
- Complete CPAT and NTN Fire Team Testing at www.nationaltestingnetwork.com.
POLICE OFFICER
Salary Ranges: (P-56) $44,471-$65,860
Description: General police work in the protection of life and property, enforcement of laws and ordinances, and the prevention of crime.
Qualifications: High School graduation, High School Equivalency Diploma, or G.E.D. Certificate. Graduation from a certified Florida Police Academy with a certificate of completion, and (effective 7/1/93) successful completion of the State Certification Exam. Must meet all FDLE requirements.

The salary range reflects only the minimum
and maximum pay for the job. Generally, the City employs applicants at
the entry step of the salary range noted above. In accordance with City
policy, an employee who is promoted to a higher position will receive
a promotional pay increase.
