Water Main Break on Drew Street Between US 19 & McMullen Booth Road
UPDATE AS OF MAY 17 AT 10:13 A.M.:
A Precautionary Boil Water Notice has been issued to about 300 residences in the area of the main break that occurred yesterday on Drew Street between US 19 & McMullen Booth. Doorhangers were delivered to everyone affected by the break: certain buildings of 2690 Drew St., and addresses along Drew that include house numbers 21421, 21415, 21411, 21315, 21323, 21335.
Repairs are complete, and service is restored. Water samples have been taken to the lab this morning, and we expect the results by May 20. A rescission notice will be issued when the samples are reported clear. The Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the Department of Health will be notified and sent detailed reports.

AS OF MAY 16 AT 4:22 P.M.:
Clearwater, Fla. -- A water main break has occurred on the westbound curb lane of Drew Street between US 19 and McMullen Booth Road of Clearwater. Crews from Clearwater’s Public Utilities Department immediately responded and are in the process of repairing the 16-inch water main, which is 150 yards west of Fairwood Avenue. The westbound lane is closed for approximately 200 feet adjacent to the water main break.
Police are on-site to assist children in safely walking past the water main break site on their way home from the Eisenhower Elementary School.
Once the utilities department has determined what repairs are needed, they will issue a precautionary boil water notice if the water main must be temporarily shut down. In that event, additional information will be released.
