Water Main Break on Clearwater Beach

Clearwater, Fla. -- A water main break has occurred in the vicinity of 1021 Eldorado Avenue on Clearwater Beach this morning. Crews from Clearwater’s Public Utilities Department immediately responded and are in the process of evaluating needed repairs for the 6-inch water main. This break will cause low to no water pressure in the area from 1021 Eldorado Avenue, Mandalay Point, and Caladesi Island State Park, which receives water through a water meter in the impacted area. The break was not caused by outside forces.

A precautionary boil water notice has been issued to about 20 homes that include addresses from 1054 to 1090 Eldorado Avenue, 1100 to 1198 Mandalay Point, and Caladesi Island State Park.

A rescission notice will be issued to the affected properties when water samples are reported clear after testing. Test results should be available in a few days. Resident with questions should call Clearwater Public Utilities at (727) 562-4960, ext. 7227.
