CLEARWATER, Fla. – Clearwater wants to help keep its older population active, healthy and informed by offering new senior and active adult programs at Ross Norton Recreation Center. Research shows staying active at an older age helps maintain cardiovascular health, strength and flexibility. Below is a list of new classes you can check out at Ross Norton.

A Matter of Balance | Tues. & Thurs. | 10 a.m. to noon | Jan. 9-Feb. 1, 2018

An evidence-based, Boston University program to manage falls and increase activity levels. Program consists of eight  2 hour sessions, includes lectures from certified instructors, group discussion and exercises.Participants must be age 60 or older. Class sizes are limited. Call to reserve your space now. Free.

Tai Chi" Moving for Better Balance | Tues. & Thurs. | 10 a.m. to noon | Feb. 8-May 1, 2018

An evidence-based program consisting of eight single forms from the traditional Yang Style Tai Chi but tailored to adults who have concerns about falling and wish to improve balance and mobility. Participants must be age 60 or older. There will be a free information session on Tue., Feb. 6, 10 a.m. Class sizes are limited. Call to reserve your space now. Free.
