FIREFIGHTER/EMT
FIRE MEDIC
Salary Ranges: $35,323 – $52,486 (Firefighter/EMT),
$42,387 – $62,983
(Fire Medic)
Description: General Firefighting work in controlling,
extinguishing and preventing fires; and providing emergency medical service
work.
Qualifications: Possession
of valid State of Florida Firefighter Certification, Emergency Medical Technician
Certification; driver’s license, at least 18 years of age and may not use
any form of tobacco products. Medics also require: valid State
of Florida certification as a Paramedic.
MARINE FACILITY OPERATORS (PART TIME)
Part-time Salary: $12.18 per hour
Description: Seasonal service, sales and maintenance
work in connection with the operation of the municipal marina docking
facilities or pier/bait house facilities. Pier 60 is open 24 hours per
day, 7 days a week from April 1st through September 30th. Varied shifts
and weekend work may be required.
Minimum Qualifications: HS degree, 1 year experience
in work related to boating, bait house operations or customer service.
MARINE LIFEGUARD
Salary Range: $24,101 - $36,152 (Plus Additional
Certifications Pay)
Description: Public safety work enforcing regulations
and protecting life at a municipal beach.
Minimum Qualifications: HS education and Florida driver’s
license required. Lifeguard training is done in-house.
POLICE OFFICER
Salary Range: $42,760 - $63,327

POOL GUARD
Salary Range: $21,941 - $32,855
Description: Public safety work in the enforcement of
regulations and protection of life at municipal pools.
Qualifications: Possession of a valid American
Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certification or American Red Cross Basic
Lifeguarding Certificate and valid CPR and First Aid certificates. American
Red Cross Water Safety Instructor - New Material Certificate and previous
pool guard, swimming instructor, or related work experience preferred.
WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT / WATER PLANT OPERATORS
Salary Ranges: $30,809 - $46,270 (Operator C),
$32,400 - $48,544 (Operator B), $33,878 - $50,931 (Operator A)
Description: Specialized work in operating and maintaining
a wastewater treatment plant, equipment and grounds or in operating and
maintaining potable water pumping and treatment facilities.
Minimum Qualifications: HS graduate, possession of Water
Treatment Operator or Wastewater Operator certificate. Possession of
a valid State of Florida Class "C" CDL.
The salary range reflects only the minimum
and maximum pay for the job. Generally, the City employs applicants at
the entry step of the salary range noted above. In accordance with City
policy, an employee who is promoted to a higher position will receive
a promotional pay increase.
