Vision Statement

Downtown Clearwater will retain its traditional character as the center of the Greater Clearwater community through the following:

• An improved business mix with a focus on retail, restaurant and entertainment
• New opportunities for downtown residential development
• Continued concentration of civic and religious activities in the area
• New activities to ensure the Downtown Clearwater remains vital to the community

A clean, safe, and well-landscaped environment will provide a pleasant destination with adequate parking and transportation for residents and visitors to the Greater Clearwater area.

The Main Street approach is based on four points, and all four are necessary to revitalize downtown, increase economic activity in the town center, and improve the quality of life for the citizens throughout the community. This four-point approach is through economic development, organization, design and promotion. The Main Street program is a movement that is citizen driven and encourages public-private partnerships in order to make downtown successful.
