About Us The community is served by eight (8) fire stations. It is currently staffed with 202 line personnel and administrative staff. Line personnel work three shifts, 24 hours per shift. We respond to approximately 23,000 calls for service annually, with the majority being requests for Emergency Medical Services. The stations are strategically located to provide four- to six-minute response times throughout the City. We are a full-service Department providing non-emergency and emergency response services including Fire Prevention, Fire and Life Safety Education, Advanced Life Support Rescue, Fire Suppression, Heavy Rescue and Extrication, and Marine Rescue. In addition to the engines and rescue companies, the Department also responds with two Aerial units and one Squad/Heavy Rescue/Air supply unit. Fire Chief Jamie D. Geer leads the Administration of the Department.
He is aided by one Deputy Chief, and a support staff. In addition to Administration,
three Divisions (Operations, Fire Prevention & Investigations, and
Support Services) oversee the Training, EMS, Special Operations, Prevention
& Investigations, Finance, Logistics, and Health & Safety Bureaus. |
