Bicycle and Pedestrian Laws
Bicycle Laws
In the State of Florida, bicycles are legally defined as vehicles (but not motor vehicles) and can use roadways with or without bicycle lanes. A bicyclist has all the rights of drivers of other vehicles, except in those cases in which special provisions have been adopted for bicycles. A bicyclist must obey the traffic laws and traffic control devices that apply to the driver of any vehicle.
Pedestrian Laws
Pedestrian also must obey special provisions that have been adopted by the State of Florida.
