Evaluation and Appraisal Report-Based Comprehensive Plan AmendmentsThe State of Florida Department of Community Affairs requires all local governments in Florida to review their comprehensive plans every seven years through the Evaluation and Appraisal Report (EAR) process and then amend their comprehensive plans in accordance with the adopted EAR. Through the assistance of a citizen advisory committee (CAC), the EAR was adopted in August 2006. Another CAC was appointed by the City Council in April 2007 to review draft amendments primarily associated with the five Issues of Local Concern identified in the EAR as well as statutory issues to be addressed. The City is working closely with the CAC to make recommendations that will be included in the draft amendments for approval by the City Council, other reviewing agencies, and the State of Florida. Future information will continue to be posted on this Web site. If you have any questions, please contact the Planning Department at 727-562-4626.
