The City and its contractors are looking out for other living things during construction. Sea turtle nesting season began May 1st and continues through October 31st. Newly hatched turtles find their way to the sea by following the natural light reflected from the water. If other light distracts them, they can lose their way and die. Because of this, specific lighting requirements are being followed in parking lots, on streets, and on the Beach Walk promenades. If you discover an unmarked turtle nest, call the Clearwater Marine Aquarium at 441-1790, ext. 224.

• More than a hundred people a day use FloridaHousingSearch.org in their quest for a place to call home.  Hundreds of property owners are listing their affordable or low-cost rental properties on the website, also. The listing is free to both landlords and renters, and the website is easy to navigate. The service is available in Pinellas County as a result of a homeless prevention initiative launched in May 2007 by the Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners. It is hoped that the website will become the main resource for helping people find homes in Pinellas County.
