Doreen Caudell ran unopposed for her City Council seat, taking office in February, 2012.
Doreen Caudell is a City Council Woman…of the People, by the People, and for the People-advocating for successful business ventures and ownership, protecting the environment, promoting the arts, preserving Clearwater’s history, offering solutions for Clearwater’s most pressing issues all while building Clearwater into a brighter tomorrow.
Living in Clearwater for 30+ years and married to a Clearwater native, Caudell has a strong, in-depth understanding of the history of Clearwater as well as neighboring cities like Dunedin, Largo, Seminole, Belleair, Safety Harbor and Palm Harbor. She has a strategic, global, forward way of thinking as it relates to Pinellas’s effectivity in the Tampa Bay region and serves on the Pinellas County Metropolitan Planning Organization/Pinellas Planning Council "Forward Pinellas" and Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council.
Caudell is very active in giving back to the community and currently serves on the Executive Board of Lighthouse of Pinellas, the Clearwater Jazz Holiday/Ruth Eckerd Hall Education Board, Youth Leadership Pinellas Board, UPARC Board, Advocare Trust Executive Board Financial and Advisory Committee, the Clearwater Chamber Board and served on the Clearwater Community Development Board for 6 years.
A Florida State Certified General Contractor, Caudell is the President and owner of a family-owned business, D-Mar General Contracting, since 2001 and has been employed there since 1984. Caudell expanded the company’s operation to include commercial development, construction management, large scale interior build-outs and site development in Clearwater and throughout Florida and worked with several large companies such as Hess, Dunkin Donuts, Citgo, Wal-Mart, Conoco Phillips, City of Clearwater, Pinellas Fair Housing Authority, Clearwater Fire & Rescue, Tire Kingdom, South Beach Sports Grill as well as local developers and builders.
Caudell is a member of numerous civic and leadership organizations such as the Rotary Club of Clearwater, Women’s Business Enterprise National Council, National Association of Professional & Executive Women, Women on the Way Alliance and attends St. Cecilia’s Church in Clearwater. Caudell received her 2 year Associate of Arts degree from St. Petersburg College in Engineering and is a graduate of Clearwater High School. With strong community support, Caudell ran unopposed in both of her City Council runs in 2012 and 2016. . Caudell enjoys spending time with her husband Andrew & their 4 grown children. Her hobbies include traveling, golf, snow skiing, scuba diving, off roading in her Jeep, and protecting and promoting Clearwater which is Bright & Beautiful Bay to Beach.
