How to Research Building Permits, Planning Cases and Business Tax Receipts Online Using ePermit

Building and Sign Permits:

  1. Click on the Building tab then
  2. Enter the permit number (BCP2012-xxxxx or SGN) ONLY then click submit.
  3. Click on the Record Number link to open the permit, then scroll down to whatever section that you want to look at (Record Detail, Fees, Inspections, Processing Status, Attachment, Trust Account) If you don't have the permit number, you can search by contractor, or address by filling in either of those fields. The less information you fill in the better your result return will be.
  4. To print a Case Summary, click on the Reports link on the top right-hand corner of the record and click on Case Summary then follow the prompts to open the .pdf document up to print it.

Planning Cases (FLS, FLD, LUP, REZ, DVA, ANX, etc.):

  1. Click on the Planning tab then
  2. Enter the permit or case number: (MIS2012-xxxxx) ONLY then click submit.
  3. Click on the Record Number link to open the permit, then scroll down to whatever section that you want to look at (Record Detail, Fees, Inspections, Processing Status, Attachment, Trust Account) If you don't have the case or permit number, you can search by contractor, or address by filling in either of those fields. The less information you fill in the better your result return will be.
  4. To print a Case Summary, click on the Reports link on the top right-hand corner of the record and click on Case Summary then follow the prompts to open the .pdf document up to print it.

Business Tax Receipts:

  1. Click on the Business Tax tab then enter the BTR or REG account number just as it appears on your Business Tax Receipt or renewal notice, then click submit.
  2. Click on the record number link to open the account. Scroll down to the section that you wish to look at. If you don't have the BTR / REG case number, you can search by address. The less information you turn in, the better your return result will be.
  3. To print a Case Summary, click on the Reports link on the top right-hand corner of the record and click on Case Summary then follow the prompts to open the .pdf document up to print it.
