The city of Clearwater’s Diversity Leadership Council, along with the Clearwater Police and Solid Waste departments, is hosting a new event, True Blue Diversity Day, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 11 at Coachman Park, 301 Drew St.

True Blue Diversity Day will be a celebration of every community members’ cultural uniqueness. The event is free and open to the public. There will be live music, diverse performances, ethnic foods for purchase, touch-a-trucks, raffle giveaways and activities for children. The city of Clearwater is excited to celebrate the diversity of our organization and community.

Clearwater Celebrates America

The City of Clearwater invites visitors to honor America's Independence Day at Clearwater Celebrates America, featuring the Clearwater Gas ‘Spark the Sky’ fireworks display. On July 4, 2016, Coachman Park will serve as the picturesque waterfront setting for the celebration, providing spectators with up-close views of the Tampa Bay area's largest fireworks display.

The patriotic festival kicks-off at 4 p.m., offering visitors the chance to experience specialty items and foods from local vendors and explore a variety of kid-friendly activities before the dazzling fireworks show begins at 9:30 p.m. Visitors will enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities throughout the celebration, including the Annual Mascot Meet & Greet Parade of Clearwater's most famous faces. From 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., spectators will watch the mascots as they parade through the park before the patriotic concert kicks-off at 7:30 p.m.

Pitch for Pink

Friday, July 22
Bright House Field, 601 N. Old Coachman Rd.

On Friday, July 22nd the Clearwater Threshers will present the 11th Annual Pitch for Pink Breast Cancer event at Bright House Field. Autographed pink game jerseys worn by Threshers players, autographed pink bats, gift certificates, spa packages and more will be auctioned off to benefit breast health services and programs at Morton Plant Mease. The first 1,000 women will receive a pink tumbler giveaway. The game starts at 6:15 p.m. The post game concert will feature The Titans of Rock, a Bon Jovi/Journey Tribute Band.
