New county precinct lines submitted by Supervisor of Elections Deborah Clark in compliance with Florida Statute 101.001 were approved today by the Pinellas County Commissioners. This approval brings Pinellas County near the completion of its redistricting process.

5/18/2012 - City to Present Preliminary Plan Ideas for Clearwater Stretch of U.S. 19 Corridor

The City of Clearwater is planning to make the US 19 corridor more attractive, successful, and sustainable. A market analysis, land use assessment study and focus group sessions were conducted to identify challenges faced along the corridor. Preliminary plan ideas will be presented and discussed at a US 19 workshop and open house, Wednesday, May 30 from 4 to 7 p.m., at La Quinta Inn, 21338 US Hwy. 19 N., Clearwater, in the Diamond Room. The presentation will take place at 4:30 p.m. and again at 6 p.m.

5/15/2012 - S.R. 60 (Gulf to Bay Boulevard) to be Closed under U.S. 19 - Night-time Detour

Between 10:00 pm Wednesday, May 16th and 6:00 am Thursday, May 17th, SR 60 (Gulf to Bay Boulevard) will be closed at US 19 for construction activities related to the US 19 widening project. During this time, traffic will not be able to cross under US 19 at SR 60. SR 60 traffic will be detoured around the work zone. US 19 will remain open. Detour signs will assist motorists. more

5/11/2012 - Clearwater to Impose Modifications to County Watering Restrictions

In response to the Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) announcing new county-wide watering restrictions, the City of Clearwater will impose its own changes, based on past watering limitations during periods of drought. Changes are effective now through July 31. more

5/9/2012 - Boaters Encouraged to Use Marina’s Flare Disposal Program

Many boaters have outdated flares that need to be replaced on their boats. That’s why the City of Clearwater’s Marine and Aviation Department encourages Clearwater boaters to participate in the Marina’s Flare Disposal Program. Flares are hand-held torches or lights that are activated during maritime emergencies. These visual distress signals are used as locater devices. more
