1/31/2012 - Main Sewer Line Ruptures on Sand Key

The main sewer line on Gulf Boulevard at Sand Key has ruptured. Crews from the City of Clearwater’s Public Utilities department are on-site, and an emergency repair is being made to restore the main and roadway. The location of the break in the sewer line is about three-quarters of a mile south of the Sand Key Bridge. more

1/31/2012 - Intermittent Lane Closures Along Betty Lane

Lanes will be closed intermittently along Betty Lane from Overbrook Avenue to Sandy Lane now through Feb. 11 due to installation of reclaimed water piping. Motorists should allow extra time while traveling along this route. more

1/25/2012 - Nightly Lane Closures Along McMullen Booth Road

Lanes along McMullen Booth Road from State Route 580 to the Tampa Road overpass will be under construction starting tonight, Jan. 25 through Feb. 8. Work will take place during the night, from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. Construction is due to a Pinellas County milling and resurfacing project. Motorists should allow themselves more time while traveling along this route or use U.S. 19 as a detour route. more

Clearwater’s Aging Well Center, 1501 N. Belcher Road, will host two heart health events in February. The first, on Feb. 15 at 10 a.m., is a Heart Health Mini Fair and lecture as part of its monthly Wellness Wednesday series in collaboration with Morton Plant Healthcare. The second is a lecture called “Protect Your Heart” on Tuesday, Feb 28 at 2 p.m. and is part of the center’s Medical Matters series. more

Clearwater’s Aging Well Center, 1501 N. Belcher Road, in partnership with CARES, Inc., will offer a new lecture series beginning in February on Safety for older citizens. The programs will be held at the center on Mondays from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. and are free to the public. more
