5/12/2008 - Keep Clearwater’s Storm Drains Clean
It’s that time of year again. With the approach of summer, grasses and greenery will be growing, and tree branches will be cut—and they may end up in the city’s storm drainage system. While storm water often travels through pipes under our roads just like sewage, it is not treated at a wastewater treatment plant. Instead, storm water flows directly into ponds, lakes, rivers and bays. Because water runs off our yards, it is important to reduce the amount of pollutants on our property.

A leg of the Fred Marquis Trail south of Sunset Point Road, between Harbor Drive and Stevenson Avenue in Clearwater, will be closed for repairs starting the week of May 12 and continuing for approximately 30 days.

A representative from the Florida Division of Forestry will present the prestigious Tree City USA award to Clearwater. 4/14/2008 - Clearwater Public Libraries Will Be Closed April 22
CLEARWATER, Fla. – All Clearwater public libraries will be closed on April 22 to convert to a countywide catalog system. The book drop will be available for return of library materials. Clearwater libraries will resume normal operating hours Wednesday, April 23.
