Contact: Elizabeth Watts, Public Safety PIO

Clearwater, Fla. – The past few months have been extremely difficult for the St. Petersburg Police Department who lost three officers in the line of duty. The law enforcement community is a tight-knit family and those in the Tampa Bay Area were affected by the loss of Sgt. Thomas Baitinger, Ofc. Jeffrey Yaslowitz and Ofc. David Crawford.

This year’s 8th Annual Charity Softball Challenge will be played in memory of Tom, Jeff, and Dave. The Clearwater Police Department and Largo Police Department will team up to play the St. Petersburg Police Department. Proceeds will go to the SPPD Fallen Warriors Fund and benefit the officers’ families.

The charity softball game begins at 4:00 p.m. Tickets are $17 dollars and include all you can eat and drink from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. and admission to the Clearwater Threshers vs. Tampa Yankees immediately following the charity game. There are also games for children and a silent auction.
