Clearwater Looking For Homestay Families To Host Middle School Students From Nagano, Japan
CLEARWATER, Fla. – Being a homestay family to middle school students visiting from Clearwater’s sister city of Nagano, Japan is a life changing experience. The opportunity allows you to bring another part of the world to your family, while getting the opportunity to learn the culture of the students staying with you. Clearwater is looking for homestay families Oct. 20-29 for middle school students traveling from Nagano who are participating in the Clearwater Sister Cities program.
Responsibilities of the host family include transportation upon arrival and departure to Tampa International Airport, providing meals, transportation to and from school, and sharing family time. Homestay families are expected to provide a healthy environment where students practice speaking a new language and learn local culture.
A committee of the Clearwater-Nagano Exchange Program will make host family selection and guest assignments. Host family members who are 18 years of age and older are required to complete a local law enforcement check. If you are interested in hosting one or more students, please contact Natalie Lamb at Natalie.Lamb@myclearwater.com or 727.562.4803. Families with middle-school-aged children preferred.
