November Clearwater Aging Well Center Programs

CLEARWATER, Fla. – The Aging Well Center, located in the Long Center at 1501 N. Belcher Road, will host a variety of upcoming programs throughout this month. For more information or to pre-register, call the Aging Well Center at (727) 724-3070.

Highlights include:

Windows 10 Edge
Thursday, Nov. 15, 10:30 a.m.-noon.
Learn what you need to know to use the new Microsoft Windows 10 web browser Microsoft Edge. This session will give you practice in all you need to know to use Microsoft Edge. Practice sheets will be provided. Space is limited. Free. 

Enjoying a Happy, Healthy Holiday Season
Thursday, Nov. 15, 3-4 p.m.
The holidays are a time to enjoy friends, family and food. You can have all three without putting on the extra pounds. Join Nan Jensen RDN, LDN as she discusses ways to help you navigate the holidays and maintain your positive choices. She will discuss how to create healthy, holiday recipes to keep the feeling of the season included in your healthier life choices. Free.

Ted Talk: The Secret to Living Longer May Be Your Social Life
Friday, Nov. 16, 2-3 p.m.
Psychologist Susan Pinker will discuss how close personal relationships and face-to-face interactions contribute to longevity. Video followed by discussion led by Sheryl Graham. Free.

Thankfulness
Tuesday, Nov. 20, 10-11 a.m.
Leslie Noland, community educator with Gulf Coast Jewish Family & Community Services, will discuss the benefits of thankfulness, the different ways to express thankfulness and how being thankful is more than just good manners. Free.

Rough Riders
Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2-3 p.m.
Join Bill Moline as he presents the fascinating history of the late 1800s Spain, which was slowly losing its grip on its many colonies across the globe like Cuba, Puerto Rico, Guam and the Philippine Islands. Spain had given the Governors General more autonomy and with that power came excesses. The U.S. sent the Battleship Maine to Havana which ultimately started a war and launched the cowboy regiment known at the Rough Riders. Free.
