City of Clearwater Seeks Residents to Serve on Charter Review Committee
CLEARWATER, Fla. - The city of Clearwater is seeking Clearwater residents to serve on its next Charter Review Committee.
The City Charter requires a Charter Review Committee to be appointed at least every five years with appointments to be made in January preceding an election. The Charter also requires there to be at least 10 members, all of whom must be Clearwater residents.
Appointed by the City Council, the committee examines the city’s charter and determines what changes, if any, should be proposed and brought to voters.
Appointments are effective Jan. 17, 2019, and the committee will meet regularly through September. The committee’s proposed charter changes will be submitted to the City Council for consideration and placement on the March 2020 ballot.
Residency within Clearwater city limits is a requirement for eligibility. Interested residents may apply at https://edocuments.myclearwater.com/Forms/AdvisoryBoardApplication. Select Charter Review Committee.
