January Clearwater Aging Well Center Programs 

CLEARWATER, Fla. – The Aging Well Center, located in the Long Center at 1501 N. Belcher Road, will host a variety of upcoming programs throughout this month. For more information or to pre-register, call the Aging Well Center at (727) 724-3070.  

Highlights include: 

Reiki Share
Monday, Jan. 7, 3-4:30 p.m.
Reiki Master Joye Swisher facilitates this session. She will share the simple technique that allows the student to tap into an unlimited supply of "life force energy," improve health and enhance quality of life. Free.

Spain Walking Tour
Tuesday, Jan. 8, 10-11:30 a.m.
Lynn Chapman and Roger Acker will share their extraordinary experience of walking across Spain on the Camino Frances route. This 60-minute DVD presentation shows highlights of their journey with music and photos. Five hundred miles is a challenge at any age, but Lynn and Roger accomplished it at the age of 73. Free.

Coloring for Your Health
Thursday, Jan. 10, 1-2:30 p.m.
Coloring has proven to stimulate the brain and promote wellness. Join us for a relaxing and fun afternoon. Materials are included. Light refreshments will be served. Free.

Free Beginners Line Dancing
Monday, Jan. 7, 14 and 28, 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Margaret Howard will teach you the steps to keep you moving while having a great time. Non-slip shoes are required. Space is limited. Free. 

Grow a Family Tree: Introducing Genealogy
Monday, Jan. 14, 2-3 p.m.
Karen Fortin will provide a general introduction into genealogical concepts, resources and methods for those wishing to get started in personal family history research. Free.

History of Gasparilla
Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2-3 p.m.
Hear about the story of Jose Gaspar and the legend of Gasparilla (celebrated in Tampa for more than 100 years), intertwined with facts, fallacies and fantasy. Tales of buried treasure and pirate ships continue to capture our imagination. This program is presented by the Tampa Bay History Center. Free.

Living Well: Brain Health and Aging
Wednesday, Jan. 16, noon-1 p.m.
