Join the city of Clearwater’s Community Redevelopment Agency for celebration of “Christmas in July” with a free showing of the 1947 classic holiday film “Miracle on 34th Street” at the Bilheimer Capitol Theatre, 405 Cleveland St. in Downtown Clearwater, on July 25 from 5 – 8 p.m.
Enjoy the classic holiday movie and get a preview of the CRA’s plans for the 2019 holiday season in Downtown Clearwater. The event is free and open to the public, and will also feature a toy drive for the holiday season with the Clearwater Police Department and Clearwater Fire & Rescue. Donate a toy at the movie night and receive free popcorn and a fountain drink.
From 5 – 6 p.m., event attendees can meet the police officers and firefighters and play on a fire truck and get a photo with a police car. The movie starts at 6 p.m.
Last year, the city of Clearwater's Community Redevelopment Agency held its inaugural Holiday Extravaganza, a season of shopping, dining, holiday lights, movies and family fun in Downtown Clearwater. This year's Holiday Extravaganza from Nov. 30 to Dec. 22 will feature another lineup of wonderful activities, festive decorations, colorful lights, music and events for residents and visitors alike.
The CRA is accepting ideas for event hosts and looking for sponsors for the 2019 Holiday Extravaganza. Potential event hosts and sponsors will have an opportunity to hear about ways to get involved at two information sessions at the July 25 event at the Bilheimer Capitol Theatre, at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.
