The Towns at Spring Lake Adds Natural Gas to New Construction Project
Clearwater, Fla. – Clearwater Gas System has added energy-efficient natural gas to 18 homes in the Towns at Spring Lake subdivision, which is in the vicinity of Keene Road and Virginia Avenue in Clearwater. This new townhome construction partnership includes an installation package of gas tankless water heaters, gas ranges and gas dryers in each townhome. Construction is under way, and the official builder is Gulfwind Homes.
At current rates, natural gas is approximately 60 percent cheaper to operate compared to electricity. A recent American Gas Association study showed the average total savings per year for households that use natural gas for heating, cooking and drying clothes equals $874, when compared to homes using electricity for typical household appliances.
Clearwater Gas System serves more than 26,300 residential and commercial customers in a 330-square-mile service territory within Pinellas, Pasco and Hillsborough counties. The gas utility is the fourth largest municipal gas system in Florida. Learn more at clearwatergas.com.
