November Clearwater Aging Well Center Programs 

CLEARWATER, Fla. – The Aging Well Center, located in the Long Center at 1501 N. Belcher Road, will host a variety of upcoming programs throughout the month of November. For more information or to register, call the Aging Well Center at (727) 724-3070.  

Highlights include: 

Fall Prevention: Action Steps
Thursday, Nov. 7, 2-3:30 p.m.
A Matter of Balance Master Trainer Sheryl Graham, M.S., will discuss what proactive action steps you can take to measure and reduce your falls risk. Topics will include how to talk with your doctor regarding your concerns about falling, recommended health screenings, evidence-based fall prevention classes,  how to move safely in your home and community, and why it’s important to talk openly about falls. Medicare Part D
Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2:30-3:30 p.m.
Unbiased information on Medicare Part D Drug Plans will be presented by specially-trained volunteers of the SHINE program and will provide detailed information on the basics of Medicare Prescription Drug Plans, including eligibility and enrollment, costs and steps to compare and choose a plan. SHINE representatives will be available to answer questions and provide enrollment or benefit application assistance. Free.

Acrylic Painting
Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2-4 p.m.
Artist Shawn Dell Joyce takes you step-by-step through creating a painting of a canoe in fall foliage. Join us for this fun and easy class, even if you’ve never painted before. $10 (cash) materials fee must be paid to the instructor. Space is limited. Call to register.

Friday, Nov. 8 & 15, 1-2 p.m.
Calm your mind, settle your body and find a softer focus to your day with a floor meditation class. Bring your mat, pillow or yoga blankets. Request a chair if needed. David Yee will share information and demonstrate techniques that may relieve tension, promote vitality and improve well-being. Free.

Apple iOS
Tuesday, Nov. 19, 10-11 a.m.
Michael Marshall will present. Learn the new Apple iPhone operating system iOS 13. It has great new features, such as block unknown callers, sign in with touch ID or facial ID, limiting location data and map favorites.  Space is limited. Call to register. Free.
