18-01 (UPDATE) Clearwater Police ID Victim, Seek Person Of Interest In Shooting
UPDATE TO SUPER 8 SHOOTING:
UPDATE: Jermaine Crumpton (DOB 4-28-73) of Clearwater was the victim in last night's shooting at the Super 8 Motel. Attached is a photo of a man who is a person of interest who may have information related to the shooting. The victim in Tuesday night's shooting at the Super 8 Motel died early this morning at Bayfront Health St. Petersburg. His name will not be released until relatives are notified. No further information is available at this time. The investigation continues.
Clearwater Police and Clearwater Fire & Rescue responded to a call of shots fired at 9:19 this evening at the Super 8 Motel, 22950 U.S. 19 N. An adult male was found shot there; he has been taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg with serious injuries. Police are on scene conducting an investigation into the shooting; the circumstances surrounding it are not known at this time. The motel is located just south of the intersection of U.S. 19 and Northeast Coachman Road. No further information is available at this time.
