Did you know electronics such as TVs and computers hazardous waste and should not be disposed of in the trash? The city of Clearwater offers electronic recycling to dispose of unwanted electronics properly.

Clearwater residents, with proof of residency, may drop electronics at the Solid Waste Complex, 1701 N. Hercules Ave., the last Wednesday of each month from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information and a schedule of dates, please click here.

Hazardous electronics accepted include TVs, monitors, laptops, power supplies, CPUs, cell phones and other devices with rechargeable batteries.

The city of Clearwater no longer picks up electronics from the curb. Residents should call the Solid Waste/Recycling Department to schedule a pick-up with Solid Waste staff. After scheduling collection, place item(s) by the front door or garage.

Preparation of electronic waste

(h) E-waste. E-waste shall be collected by the City only after property owner has scheduled a pick-up with Solid waste Department personnel.

(i) None of the above may be placed for collection more than 24 hours in advance of a scheduled pick-up.
