FEMA is preparing to issue new Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) for the Alligator Creek watershed area of Clearwater that may affect several properties. Residents located near the area may now need flood insurance, and some may no longer need flood insurance. To search if a property’s flood zone or base flood elevation has changed, visit clearwaterfl.withforerunner.com and scroll down to toggle between the current Effective FIRM and Preliminary FIRM tab, which show the proposed changes to the flood maps.

Comments and appeals can also be submitted on clearwaterfl.withforerunner.com for any impacted property by clicking "Submit” and then on “Alligator Creek Preliminary FIRM – Comment and Appeal Review” and then click on “Get started” and create an account.
