Project Background

In 2019, Clearwater demolished the Harborview Center, which was home to a department store, a restaurant, trade shows, conventions, weddings, high school proms and more, before it was abandoned in 2009. In 2022, Clearwater voters approved the sale of the property for $9.3 million for a redevelopment project.

Project Goal

To provide a new 158-key hotel for those attending downtown events, meetings and conferences. The hotel will offer an option for overnight accommodations that is currently missing from the downtown Clearwater area. The property will also offer 169 parking spaces, a rooftop bar and about 21,000 square feet of retail space. This hotel, restaurant and accompanying retail will add more amenities to downtown and will further the goal of being a premier city that is bright and beautiful from bay to beach.
