Holiday Season Collection Schedule

Thanksgiving, Christmas 2025 & New Year’s Day 2026

City of Clearwater offices, libraries, and recreation facilities will be closed on the following holidays:

  • Thursday, Nov. 27, 2025 – Thanksgiving
  • Thursday, Dec. 25, 2025 – Christmas
  • Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026 – New Year’s Day

Clearwater Solid Waste will also be closed on these holidays so employees can spend the day with their families.

Collection Changes

  • Since all three holidays fall on a Thursday, Thursday residential and commercial pickups will move to Wednesday during each holiday week.
  • Thursday commercial cardboard collections will be picked up on the Friday after each holiday.
  • All other collections remain on their normal schedule.

Christmas Tree Disposal

For residents in single-family homes:

  • Remove all decorations and lights from tree.
  • Place whole tree on the curb on your regular day of service.
  • There are no quantity limits.
  • There is no set end date of when collection of trees will end.
  • Do not put trees or other yard waste into your recycling bin.
For residents in multi-family units:
  • Contact your property management company or homeowners association for instructions on tree disposal.
The city does not have a designated drop-off site for Christmas trees.
