The City of Clearwater's Solid Waste Department has a truck washing facility at 1701 N. Hercules Avenue. The Solid Waste Department's Complex. This facility is used to clean waste collection vehicles and other vital vehicles. This project will improve the facility by adding a new truck washing system. Complete with two automatic bays and two new manual washing bays. The facility is fully created by a truck wash manufacturer, and both systems are to be open and covered. The construction period is 270 days and solid waste will continue to operate. Construction will be completed in three steps. First the new automatic wash, second the manual truck wash, and third paving the site. Each entrance to the site will remain open.

The plan has been altered to include the base bid and backup plans to keep costs low and give the team more options. The base bid includes manual truck wash facilities. The backup plans now includes the automatic truck wash system. The City rethought the IT bid and decided to work through the current service connection. Saving more than $1 million.
