Below are the road and lane closures happening in the city of Clearwater:

Utility Projects

• Jasmine Way from Fort Harrison to North Bay avenues will be closed to traffic Nov. 19, due to a sewer main repair. Follow posted detour signs.
• The northbound travel lane of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue between Court and Cleveland streets and the outside travel lane of westbound Court Street at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, is closed through late 2025, due to utility improvements to the drinking water delivery system. Follow posted detour signs.
• Mandalay Avenue between Gardenia and Juniper streets is currently closed to traffic, now through late 2025, each day from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., due to a reclaimed water improvement project happening in the north beach area. There also is a hard closure at the intersection of Mandalay Avenue and Jessamine Circle. Follow posted detour signs.
• A contractor working for the city will be running new reclaimed water mains along Pierce Street, through the intersection at Myrtle Avenue and then along Myrtle Avenue to Franklin Street. This will result in potential lanes shifts and sidewalk detours for a period of about eight weeks, starting the week of Oct. 27, through Dec. 22, depending on weather delays. Work will take place between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. daily, Monday through Friday.
• North Betty Lane at the intersection of Grove Street is currently closed through Nov. 24, due to the replacement of two manholes and sanitary sewer mains. This closure will result in detours for both directions of Betty Lane and Grove Street. Roads will remain open to local traffic except at the point of closure.

Road Construction

• The Florida Department of Transportation will be conducting roadway improvements in conjunction with the State Road 60 Courtney Campbell Causeway Pedestrian Overpass project. Expect lane closures 24 hours per day through late 2025.
• The Florida Department of Transportation has begun a project on U.S. 19 in Clearwater between Drew Street and Sunset Point Road. This project will repave U.S. 19, the ramps and the frontage roads. Other improvements include realigning existing U-turn lanes and upgrading sidewalks and lighting. Construction is anticipated to be complete in late 2025.
• Sunset Point Road between McMullen Booth and Keene Road will be closed nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly through Dec. 31, as they gradually repave Sunset Point Road as part of a Pinellas County paving project. Closures will be at different points on Sunset Point as the job progresses. Depending on weather and unanticipated challenges, this project may go into the new year.
• The south side of the Courtney Campbell Causeway pedestrian trail closed to pedestrian traffic from Bayshore Boulevard to Dr. Kiran C. Patel Boulevard, through late 2025, weather permitting. Advanced warning signs will be installed on each side of the pedestrian trail to alert the public of the planned closure. This closure is necessary for crews to construct the pedestrian overpass over Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard east of Bayshore Boulevard, connecting the Bayshore Trail and the Courtney Campbell Causeway Trail. Construction activities are expected to finish in late 2026. There will be lane closures for eastbound traffic in this same area daily 24 hours per day through the end of the project.

Private Development

• Southbound lanes on Osceola Avenue will shift to share the northbound lane just south of the intersection of North Osceola Avenue and Drew Street, beginning Sept. 11, for construction of a new hotel and rental building. The outside northbound thru-lane will not be affected. Expect traffic delays throughout the project, and this lane shift will be in place until the end of construction.
