Request a Neighborhood Safety Sign
Request a Neighborhood Safety Sign
tip411 is a free, anonymous tool that allows residents to share crime-related information with law enforcement. Neighborhood safety signs help raise awareness of this tool and may support efforts to reduce crime in areas experiencing public safety challenges.
This program is available only for neighborhoods located within the City of Clearwater city limits.
Submitting a request does not guarantee approval, but all eligible requests will be reviewed.
Step 1: Confirm You Live Within City Limits
Check your address at PCPAO.com
Step 2: Confirm There Is a Crime Trend in Your Area
tip411 signs are intended for neighborhoods where a visible reminder may help reinforce public safety efforts. If your area is not currently experiencing a pattern of recurring incidents, a sign may not be necessary at this time. Because we want to preserve the effectiveness of the program, we prioritize sign placement in areas where law enforcement believes it can have the greatest impact.
Step 2: Obtain a Letter of Support from Your Neighborhood Association
Your neighborhood must have a city registered and active neighborhood association or homeowner’s association. The letter of support must be signed by at least three residents.
Step 3: Make Sure No tip411 Sign Already Exists
To avoid visual clutter and sign fatigue, only a limited number of tip411 signs are installed per neighborhood. We ask applicants to confirm that a sign is not already installed nearby before making a request.
Step 4: Contact Us to Request the Sign
If your neighborhood meets the above criteria, please contact us through Clearwater Connect. A neighborhoods coordinator will help guide the request and coordinate with the Clearwater Police Department for review.
Step 5: Review and Decision
The Clearwater Police Department will review your request to determine whether a tip411 sign is appropriate based on crime data, community need, and city signage guidelines.
If approved, staff will coordinate placement and installation.
