City Manager Poirrier Earns Prestigious ICMA Credential

        Jennifer Poirrier, City Manager of Clearwater, has received the Credentialed Manager designation from ICMA, the International City/County Management Association. Poirrier is one of more than 1,300 local government management professionals currently credentialed through the ICMA Voluntary Credentialing Program.
ICMA’s mission is to advance professional local government through leadership, management, innovation, and ethics, and by increasing the proficiency of appointed chief administrative officers, assistant administrators, and other employees who serve local governments and regional entities around the world. The organization’s 13,000 members in 27 countries also include educators, students, and other local government employees.
To receive the prestigious ICMA credential, a member must have significant experience as a senior management executive in local government, have earned a degree—preferably in public administration or a related field—and demonstrated a commitment to high standards of integrity, lifelong learning, and professional development.
 
Poirrier brings more than 23 years of dedicated service in local government, with a strong track record of leadership, innovation, and public service. Her background combines executive-level experience with a commitment to lifelong learning and professional growth.
She holds advanced degrees including a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Business/Human Resources and a Master of Business Administration in Human Resources, and is currently participating in the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative, a year-long program hosted by the Bloomberg Center for Cities at Harvard University that provides executive education and coaching from Harvard faculty. Throughout her career, Poirrier has prioritized strategic leadership, organizational development, and fostering inclusive, high-performing teams.
