US 19 Zoning District & Corridor Plan The city of Clearwater has developed zoning standards to create a thriving and prosperous corridor along the city’s seven-mile stretch of US 19 and its major cross streets.
Municipal Electric Utility Study Clearwater’s 30-year electric franchise with Duke Energy is ending. The city can either municipalize electricity, joining 33 Florida cities that run their own utilities, or negotiate a new franchise. Investor-owned utilities have historically served the area under PSC-granted monopolies and customizable local agreements.
