Municipal Electric Utility Study Clearwater’s 30-year electric franchise with Duke Energy is ending. The city can either municipalize electricity, joining 33 Florida cities that run their own utilities, or negotiate a new franchise. Investor-owned utilities have historically served the area under PSC-granted monopolies and customizable local agreements.
Edgewater Drive Park Edgewater Drive Park is currently a passive park with limited functionality and use. The park will undergo refurbishment and to include a new pier, expanded parking lot, improved stormwater management, new sidewalks, new bike racks, trash receptacles, benches, environmental educational signage, and an ADA accessible drinking fountain.
City Hall Construction The city of Clearwater is in the process of building its new City Hall, a modern facility designed to enhance municipal operations and offer an improved experience for both residents and visitors.
